About This Project

Located a short walk from Marble Arch (Oxford Street), Nutford House offers accommodation to over 200 students. OPEC Plc were asked by Bouygues to undertake works at Nutford House for the University of London. The works involved the supply and installation of a new central heating system throughout the whole building.

The nature of the building and the works meant that the design and installation were complicated and required full-time budget management and site management to ensure the works were carried out successfully on-time and on-budget.

Both the client team and site team agreed that the instructed works were near impossible to complete within the required timescale. However, we were able to complete the works within seven days of the instruction, installing over 35 football pitches worth of pipework, enough lagging to cover 1.5 football pitches and over 200 metres of radiators equivalent to 20 double-decker buses.

In addition to our main contract installing central heating we also carried out a large amount of additional works assisting with the transformation of the building over the summer holidays. With much dedication the project was a success and the building was ready for when the students returned.
